Sonar arrays under high drive: Hard PZT with highly dense microstructures and low dielectric and mechanical losses, formulated for sonar arrays.
Projectors: PMN electrostrictors developed for sonar, with 6 to 10 times the strain energy density of PZT-8.
A smaller transducer: Single-crystal transducers TRS has built demonstrated bandwidths up to 3 octaves, 30 to 60% shorter devices and up to 50% power savings.
Shock: Hard PZT grades are shock resistant for sensors.
